The most common application program is a program that communicates trough a bus/interface with a instrument, test system or robot. The interface may vary, but a few examples are:

  • PCI, PXI
  • USB
  • GPIB
  • Ethernet
  • RS232, RS485, CAN, Profibus, i2c
  • PCI connected i/o board

When communicating with an external test system/robot/instrument, our first choice of programming language would be Visual Basic 6. It is easy to maintain and can be edited during debugging of the communication protocol that are being used. Other programming languages are of course used on request, like Visual C, C# etc.

Server programming

We program scripts using Bash. Scripts are often used in combination with local web servers, for smaller user initiated tasks or on timed cron jobs, like backup scripts.

Server set-up

We can help you set up your Linux Debian server. We have experience in the following areas:

  • mail (exim, imap)
  • VPN (pptp, the default protocol used for Windows clients)
  • Samba (Windows file servers)
  • Apache2 (Web server)
  • DNS (caching local name server)
  • MySQL (database server for e.g forums, CMS etc)
  • Php and PHPMyAdmin (used to manage MySql databases)
  • PhpBB2 (web forum)
  • DAV (web folders)
  • Firewalls/routing (dynamic ipchanis filter roules)
  • DVD backups (daily DVD±RW storage of incremental/full backups)
